Le Goût du Terroir

Le Goût du Terroir is a self-employed company created on April 1, 2019 in Reims by myself, Hugues Durville, a self-taught great wine enthusiast. I believe I have acquired over the years a level equivalent to the WSET 3. I have learned everything on the ground for many years (about 30 years), by travelling through the vineyards of France, by meeting winegrowers, by tasting many wines at winegrowers' and professional and public wine fairs, or even by participating in many national competitions as president of the jury (Concours National des Vins des Vignerons Indépendants), by reading a lot of specialized magazines and books, by meeting wine professionals, oenologists, sommeliers, producers, cellarers, salesmen, etc. ..

During this period I built up a fine cellar of 1600 Champagnes and wines from France. Today, I have a stock of about 350 bottles of Champagne, all selected after having tasted them at the 30 partner winegrowers of Goût du Terroir. These serious and reliable winemakers are carefully selected, beyond their reputation, on the basis of their quality work, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, respectful of nature and their terroirs and of course on the very high quality level of their Champagnes.

My stock of Champagnes is very representative of the different regions of Champagne and their terroirs. It covers all types of Champagne. In addition to private individuals and amateurs, I often receive wine professionals (winemakers, oenologists, sommeliers, wine tourism guides, cuvists, salesmen) who approve and appreciate my knowledge, my method, my pedagogy and the choice of my wines and Champagnes.
